The Lisboan marked “The Lisboan Day” with our partners at Atlético Clube de Portugal, bringing students, players, and the wider community together on the pitch. As our students walked out alongside the team, the moment carried a quiet significance. It reflected a partnership built on shared spaces, shared values, and a shared belief that young people grow best when they feel connected to the world around them.
This collaboration is part of everyday life at The Lisboan. Our students train regularly on Atlético’s football fields, where they begin to understand the discipline behind performance and the responsibility of being part of a team. On the club’s basketball courts, they develop coordination and awareness, learning how to read the game and support one another. Just around the corner, at Piscina Municipal do Alvito, swimming lessons build both confidence and resilience, as students learn to push through challenges in a new environment.
What makes this partnership meaningful is not just access to facilities, but the sense of belonging it creates. Students are not stepping into unfamiliar spaces. They are becoming part of a local rhythm, where sport, community, and daily life intersect.
“The Lisboan Day” was a celebration of that connection. It showed what is possible when a school looks outward and invests in its surroundings. By working closely with Atlético, we are contributing to a neighbourhood that feels active, proud, and united, while giving our students experiences that stay with them far beyond the school day.
