Building on a Strong Foundation – Celebrating our 2nd year.
As we begin another school year at The Lisboan, there is a real sense of excitement across our community. Last year marked an important milestone as we welcomed our founding students and families, established our culture, and demonstrated what makes our school unique. This year, we build on that foundation.
Every new school year brings fresh opportunities, but it also brings greater responsibility. As our community grows, so too does our commitment to ensuring that every student feels known, challenged, and inspired to discover their potential.
One of the defining aspects of The Lisboan is our culture, embodied in our BOA values: Belong, Own, Act. These values have shaped our school from the very beginning, and this year they will become an even stronger part of everyday life. We want every student to feel a genuine sense of belonging, to take ownership of their learning and their actions, and to act with purpose, kindness, and integrity.
Education is about far more than academic achievement. It is about developing young people who are curious, resilient, compassionate, and ready to make a positive contribution to the world around them. As educators, our role is to create an environment where students are encouraged to think deeply, ask meaningful questions, embrace challenge, and grow in confidence.
This year, we will continue to strengthen student engagement both inside and outside the classroom. Through inspiring teaching, meaningful experiences, and the unique opportunities our city provides, we want our students to understand that learning has purpose. A great education doesn’t simply prepare children for exams. It shapes character, broadens perspectives, and equips them to make a lasting difference in their own lives and in the lives of others.
To our returning families, thank you for the trust you continue to place in us. To those joining The Lisboan for the first time, welcome. We are delighted to have you as part of our growing community.
