CO-CURRICULAR & AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

EVERY CHILD. EVERY PASSION. EVERY OPPORTUNITY

At The Lisboan, learning doesn’t end when lessons finish. It simply takes on a different shape.

Our Co-Curricular and After-School Programme is an integral part of school life, carefully designed to help students discover new interests, develop lifelong skills and build confidence beyond the classroom. Whether it’s coding, climbing, debating, music, gardening or entrepreneurship, every activity has a clear purpose and contributes to each child’s personal growth.

Available from Early Years through to Secondary, the programme evolves as students grow, ensuring new experiences and fresh challenges every year. Reviewed each term, our activities reflect students’ interests, emerging opportunities and the expertise of both our teaching staff and specialist partners.

LEARNING BEYOND THE CURRICULUM

Our programme goes far beyond traditional after-school clubs.

Each activity has been carefully selected to help students develop the knowledge, skills and character needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Alongside discovering new passions, students build confidence, resilience, creativity, leadership and independence through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

Activities are designed around key areas of personal development, including:

  • Leadership
  • Creativity & Performance
  • Innovation & Digital Skills
  • Sustainability
  • Service Learning
  • Languages & Culture
  • Wellbeing
  • Sport & Outdoor Education

Rather than simply filling time after school, every session is an extension of The Lisboan learning experience.

Our aim is not simply to offer more activities—but to create meaningful experiences that help every child become more confident, capable and curious.

MUSIC ACADEMY

Music is an important part of life at The Lisboan.

In partnership with Metropolitana, one of Lisbon’s leading music conservatories, The Lisboan Music Academy offers high-quality individual instrumental tuition for students of all ages and experience levels.

Lessons are available:

  • Monday to Friday
  • During or after the school day
  • On fixed or rotating timetables
  • For complete beginners through to advanced musicians

No previous musical experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for students to discover a lifelong passion for music.

Activities take place:

  • Early Years: 3.00pm – 4.00pm

Some specialist activities delivered by external providers or requiring specialist venues, equipment or coaching may carry an additional fee. These are clearly identified before registration.

DESIGNED AROUND OUR STUDENTS

Our programme is reviewed every term to ensure it remains engaging, relevant and inspiring.

By listening to student voice, responding to new interests and working with expert partners across Lisbon, we continually expand the opportunities available to our learners.

Whether discovering a hidden talent, trying something completely new or developing an existing passion, every student is encouraged to step beyond their comfort zone, embrace new experiences and become the very best version of themselves.

THE LISBOAN EXPERIENCE CONTINUES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

At The Lisboan, we believe some of the most memorable learning happens after the school bell rings. Our co-curricular and after-school programme gives every child the opportunity to explore, create, collaborate and grow—developing not only new skills, but the confidence, curiosity and character that will stay with them for life.
