Catering & Healthy Eating
At The Lisboan, we believe that healthy eating plays an important role in children's wellbeing, concentration and learning. Our approach to nutrition goes beyond providing balanced meals — it is also about helping students develop positive lifelong habits, explore different cultures and build meaningful connections within our community.
NOURISHING MINDS, BODIES AND COMMUNITY
At The Lisboan, all meals are freshly prepared on-site by our trusted catering partner, PONTO., ensuring quality, freshness and excellent flavour every day.
Working with a specialist team of chefs and nutritionists, PONTO. creates balanced, internationally inspired monthly menus that introduce children to a variety of cuisines while meeting their nutritional needs.
Every recipe is carefully developed to be both delicious and nourishing, with a strong commitment to reducing salt, sugar and unhealthy fats without compromising on taste. Because healthy eating should never feel restrictive — it should be fresh, varied and enjoyable.
Fresh fruit is served as dessert every day, with a special dessert offered on Fridays as a weekly treat. Afternoon snacks are equally wholesome and freshly prepared, with options such as homemade banana bread, homemade cakes, yoghurt and seasonal fruit, helping students stay energised throughout the day.
A DINING HALL
WITH HISTORY
Our dining hall sits within the heart of the original pasta factory that once occupied this historic building. The machinery has long since disappeared, but the character of the space remains, thoughtfully restored to become a place where our school community gathers every day.
After all, a building with such a rich culinary past deserved a menu that goes well beyond pasta. Today, students enjoy freshly prepared, nutritious meals in a unique setting that celebrates the building's industrial heritage while embracing its new purpose as a place of learning, connection and community.
FOOD AS A LEARNING EXPERIENCE
Food is an important part of how we learn about the world. Throughout the year, students explore nutrition, sustainability, culture and wellbeing through classroom activities, projects and special events.
OUR COMMUNITY RECIPE PROGRAMME
SHARING CULTURES THROUGH FOOD
Once a month, a family from our school community shares a favourite recipe that reflects their culture, traditions or family story. Students then enjoy the recipe together at school.
This much-loved initiative celebrates the diversity of our international community while helping children discover new flavours, traditions and perspectives.
It is a wonderful way for families to contribute to school life and for students to experience the many cultures that make up The Lisboan community.
From Portuguese comfort food to recipes from across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, every dish tells a story.
